About this Event
What is Blacklicious 2026?
Blackhurst Cultural Centre invites you to Blacklicious, our annual Caribbean Christmas celebration and fundraiser!
Building on the tradition of Black Cake Day, Blacklicious expands the celebration beyond the cake itself to explore the flavours, creativity and food traditions of the Caribbean. From beloved classics to unexpected creations, this year’s event celebrates the many ways Caribbean ingredients, recipes and traditions can be reimagined, shared and enjoyed.
Guests can look forward to an afternoon of food and drink tastings, entertainment, music, storytelling and community, all while supporting the work of Blackhurst Cultural Centre.
What can you expect?
Black cake remains part of the celebration, but Blacklicious goes further. Expect a diverse selection of sweet and savoury dishes, drinks and creative culinary offerings inspired by Caribbean flavours and traditions. You may discover familiar favourites alongside new and unexpected ways of incorporating black cake and other Caribbean ingredients into desserts, beverages, savoury dishes and more.
Our popular People’s Choice competition will also return, giving guests the opportunity to sample featured creations and vote for their favourite.
Blacklicious is also a fundraiser in support of Blackhurst Cultural Centre and our continued work preserving, celebrating and sharing Black Canadian and Caribbean culture, history and community.
Come hungry, come curious, and join us as we celebrate Caribbean food, culture and creativity in all its forms.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
Warm regards,
