Black Wolf & the Thief is a dynamic combination of theatrical rock, electronic sounds, with elements of blues and R&B. Coming from Warren Ohio, they are an energetic and groovy. They are a keyboard & percussion driven trio from Warren, OH with a funky, hard hitting, sound all of its own. The combination of Carolyn’s soulful, virtuosic voice & poetic lyricism and Clay’s aggressive, jazz-influenced piano playing makes a fresh blend of original music that marries the beauty of classical, the harmonies of jazz, & the hard edge of rock. The keyboard driven trio fuses the sonic landscape of psychedelic rock bands like The Doors and Jefferson Airplane, with the more eclectic sounds of modern electronic bands like MGMT and Glass Animals, with the easy groove of r&b artists like Leon Bridges and Alicia Keys. With an undeniable influence of both 90s post punk and Romantic classical music, it's certainly a unique sound — one that has been described as "the David Lynch of music."
