About this Event

Black Men’s Healing Circle: The Strength in Receiving

A space for Black men to explore receiving love, care, and support with connection, reflection, and room to simply be.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

You show up for so many people. What happens when you allow someone to show up for you?

Join Holistic Healing with Mel for November’s Black Men’s Healing Circle: The Strength in Receiving, an intentional space to pause, connect, and explore what it means to welcome care.

When you’re accustomed to providing, protecting, leading, or holding things together, receiving can feel unfamiliar. Even a compliment or a simple offer of help may bring up discomfort; or the feeling that you immediately owe something in return.

This circle invites you to get curious about those responses, acknowledge your own needs, and practice making room for support that feels trustworthy and welcome.

WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE

  • The messages we’ve learned about strength, independence, and needing others.
  • Accepting appreciation without minimizing or deflecting.
  • Asking for support and communicating what would help.
  • Receiving care without immediately feeling obligated to repay it.
  • Welcoming connection while honoring personal boundaries.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Through guided grounding, journaling, affirmations, intentional conversation, and an intentional receiving practice, you’ll have space to reflect and connect with other Black men. We’ll close with a guided meditation, and you’ll leave with affirmations and journal prompts to continue the reflection at home.

You are welcome to share, listen, or pass. Every invitation is optional, and you choose your level of participation.
