New Orleans Black Education History Week opens Sunday, November 15, with BE NOLA’s signature Black Is Brilliant Summit pop-up, powered by Entergy.
The Gallery
The Living Syllabus opens to the public for the first time — archival displays and five stations built from BE NOLA’s Black Is Brilliant Syllabus.
The Vending Village
Rows of local Black- and brown-owned businesses and cultural organizations, alongside hands-on stations: float-making, gloves-on archive handling, STEM builds, and library card sign-ups. Every table is somebody in this city already doing the work.
The Courtyard
Food truck, pizza next door, spades, double dutch, a DJ set, and somewhere to sit. The day closes with the Sundown Social.
Bring everybody
Children, elders, neighbors, out-of-town cousins. You don’t have to be connected to a school or an organization. Show up.
$15 suggested donation supports the week.
