About this Event
Celebrating Inspirational Black Men in Our Community
St Mark’s Church of England Academy is proud to present our annual Black Excellence Event, taking place on Thursday 26th November 2026.
This year’s theme, “Kings of Influence: Celebrating Inspirational Black Male Leaders”, is dedicated to recognising and celebrating the achievements, journeys and positive contributions of inspirational Black men within our community and beyond.
The event will bring together inspirational figures from a variety of backgrounds, including sport, music, entertainment, education, entrepreneurship and community leadership. Through their personal stories and experiences, we hope to inspire our young people, challenge stereotypes and showcase the many different pathways to success.
Our students will have the opportunity to hear directly from our guests, take part in an interactive question-and-answer session and learn about the challenges, sacrifices and determination behind their journeys.
We will also celebrate individuals who have made a meaningful difference to others through our Black Excellence Awards, recognising leadership, resilience, transformation and positive contributions to the community.
At the heart of this event is a simple but powerful message: representation matters, your circumstances do not define your future, and greatness comes in many different forms.
We want our students to leave feeling inspired, empowered and confident that they too can become positive role models and influential figures in their own communities.
Join us as we celebrate excellence, recognise influence and inspire the next generation.
