79FM: FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
Five years ago, I started 79FM with a genuine love and appreciation for R&B and Neo Soul, and a vision of creating a space where that music could be experienced beyond just hearing your favorite records. A place to discover something new, revisit something familiar, and appreciate the stories, creativity, and Black musical expression behind the sounds we love.
What started as a monthly gathering has grown into an experience that continues to bring people together through music. From the very first night at Spot Lite to the different rooms we've occupied along the way, one thing has remained constant: the people who continue to show up, embrace the music, and make every edition of 79FM what it is. That means more to me than I can put into words.
For this anniversary, we're celebrating the entire musical journey of 79FM. No particular artist theme, just an evening dedicated to the sounds that have shaped our experiences over the years. From timeless classics and familiar favorites to B-sides, deep cuts, and everything in between.
To everyone who's been part of this journey, whether you've been here since the beginning or recently found your way to us, thank you for allowing something I love to become something we can all share.
FIVE YEARS IN, AND THE MUSIC STILL SPEAKS.
