Ever been out on a walk with friends & dying to share your expertise on the difference between a song thrush & a migratory redwing as they flit between scrub patches? Get closer to your local wildlife & get involved in identifying resident & over-wintering migrant birds on the Downs with Ed Drewitt, author & well-known naturalist. Ed shows us how bird behaviour changes as we enter the winter months & how to explore these uplifting animals through song & visuals at this time of year. We'll start with some early fieldwork as our expert leads us out on a thrilling bird walk on the Downs discovering the extraordinary, varied patterns of birdsong & focussing on many of our common Downs species. Back at the Botanic Garden site we'll have lunch (not provided) & look in more depth at the theory over a cup of tea and biscuit.
Native wildlife in-depth workshop.
