Join us for a bird walk at Hempstead Lake State Park where we will look for the Great Horned Owl that's been hanging around and many other birds! (Photo by Bill Belford)Bird walks led by a member of SSAS are held nearly every week, either Saturday or Sunday morning from late August through early June. Walks are open to the public and are free of charge. We especially encourage youngsters to attend.
There is no walk if it rains.
Register by texting that you would like to join the bird walk to Joe Landesberg at 516-467-9498. Include your name and a contact number to text should there be a need to cancel.
Directions: From the Southern State Parkway, take Exit 18 (Eagle Avenue) south to Field 3 (use second park entrance and make an immediate left turn).
