The natural area encompasses several habitat types, including mixed oak–juniper woodland, savanna/prairie, and aquatic and riparian habitats. Along with year-round residents, we may encounter early late-year arrivals such as kinglets, Hermit Thrush, various sparrow species, and overwintering warblers.
