About this Event
Celebrate BIPOC Senior Adult Recognition Month with Us!
Join us for a special in-person event honoring the incredible contributions of BIPOC senior adults. It's a time to uplift voices, share stories, and connect with community in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Don't miss out on this meaningful gathering where we celebrate history, culture, and resilience together!
This community celebration will honor the leadership and service of BIPOC older adults in legislative advocacy, faith-based service, caregiver support, and efforts to elevate older adult voices. The event will also celebrate Trinity Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Rochester’s only Black Presbyterian church, as it marks 75 years of community service.
This event is hosted by the Senior Adult Community Engagement (SACE) group, a project of the Combined Entity of Common Ground Health-Finger Lakes Performing Provider System-Rochester RHIO. Participants will include the Rev. Dr. Melany J. Silas-Chandler, older adults, caregivers, advocates, elected officials, community leaders, and award recipients.
A light lunch will be provided. The event is free, but please register so we can ensure there is food for all.
