Bim Skala Bim + NB Rude Boys - Ska ExtravaganzaSunday, November 29 | Showtime 5PM | Neptune's Cape Cod, 541 Main St, Hyannis
Bim Skala Bim
Bim Skala Bim formed in Boston, MA as a ska rock band influenced by the bands in England's 2 Tone movement, as well as the music of the Clash, UB40 and Bob Marley. Bim's infectious Boston Blue Beat sound led them to be one of the premier bands kick-starting the Third Wave of Ska in the 1980s. Other bands quickly followed their example, resulting in a lively scene in Boston and much of the United States. This will be a special Vinyl Record Release party at Neptunes!!
When Bim Skala Bim first appeared in 1983, Boston didn't have much of a ska scene - they worked hard over the years to make sure we got one. Bim Skala Bim has also been a remarkably stable band: all seven of the band's original members have remained in the picture over the years. Special guests: The Michael Paul Brennan Duo will open. Check em out - you will love this show!!!
NB Rude Boys
The NB Rude Boys, hailing from New Bedford, MA, are an electrifying band that blends the timeless sounds of ska, reggae, rock steady and punk rock. Their energetic shows are characterized by pulsating rhythms and a powerful horn section that captivates all! We are excited for their debut show at Neptunes!!!
