Big Local, Big so what?
Place-based funding now and next

The Big Local programme has ended. However, place-based funding and approaches are still here and are becoming increasingly popular with funders and investors. In this final session those involved with Big Local will share their experience upon how the programme was different, and what it helped to achieve and unlock in different communities across the region.
We will also look at how you measure and celebrate success within community-led and long-term funding programmes, as well as how place-based areas continue their work after the funding and investment has ended.
The final part of the session will look at place-based funding now and in the future, considering current programmes such as Pride in Place, and how other funders are developing their place-based work.
We have a range of speakers already lined up for this session including representatives from Big Local communities and Local Trust, as well as Locality, Lloyds Bank Foundation, and the East Midlands Funding Forum.
The session is open to anyone involved or interested in place-based grantmaking and investment, bringing together:
- Funders and grantmakers
- Local Authorities, Commissioners and other services looking at place-based work
- VCSE Infrastructure organisations
- Charities and community groups involved in place-based work
- Big Local staff, volunteers and community members
