For oboists and bassoonists aged 15–18, those in full-time education, and adult players.

Visit Guildhall School of Music & Drama on Sunday 2nd November 2025 for our Big Double Reed Day – a vibrant, full-day celebration of all things oboe and bassoon. This event brings together double reed players from across the UK for a day of musical exploration, inspiration, and connection. Designed for musicians aged 15–18, those in full-time education, and adult players, the day offers a rich and varied programme, including:

Instrument-specific Masterclasses
Ensemble playing andchamber music
Reed-making classes
Doubling and baroque instruments
Opportunities to meet and play alongside Guildhall professors and guest artists

The day will culminate in a collaborative performance, bringing participants together for a shared musical experience in the Silk Street Music Hall.Throughout the day, you’ll also be able to explore a curated selection of trade stands from leading double reed specialists.

This event offers a supportive and inspiring environment to develop your skills and passion and is an exciting opportunity to meet and engage with a community of oboists and bassoonists from across the country.
