In this class, students will engage with scholarly writings from authors representing a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. As they interact with these sources, they will evaluate the information presented and be challenged to think critically and deeply about what they are learning. Students will be encouraged to ask questions about differing interpretations and discuss how these perspectives align with their understanding of other passages in James and the Bible as a whole. Finally, students will consider the practical implications of their study, engaging in meaningful dialogue about what they have learned and how they can apply its lessons to their lives as followers of Christ.
