Join us for a special book talk with Mushtak Khan, scholar, curator and researcher, exploring India’s rich and diverse traditions of folk and tribal painting. Drawing on over four decades of research and field documentation, the conversation will delve into the origins, techniques, folklore and evolving practices of these community-rooted art forms, tracing their journey across generations.
Mushtak Khan has extensive experience in the documentation and study of Indian folk and tribal arts. He has worked with Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal, and served as Deputy Director (Design & Documentation) at the Crafts Museum, New Delhi. His extensive fieldwork spans Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Odisha, and he has published over 200 articles on tribal and folk arts.
