About this Event
Enjoy the beautiful Fall scenery while learning about the life cycle of salmon and their fascinating spawning journey, explore healthy ecosystems, human impacts on the environment, and support wild-fire affected Indigenous Communities.
This hike will support our humanitarian relief efforts for Indigenous communities through True North Aid. The 2026 wildfires in Northern Ontario have caused devastating losses for Indigenous communities, destroying homes and essential community infrastructure. The Namaygoosisagagun (First Nations Collins) Community was completely burned down, including its school, administration office, community centre, vehicles, and essential equipment. Additionally, Whitewater Lake Community has also experienced near-total or severe destruction of homes and vital infrastructure.
As of October 2026, community members were still working through the difficult process of recovery and planning to rebuild with important questions about resources and long-term support remaining.
Green Action Collective is proud to support True North Aid's work alongside Northern and remote Indigenous communities across Canada. If you’re able to join us at our fundraising hike, please RSVP for the hike and click on our Fundraising link attached below for your contribution!
If you’re unable to attend hike, you can still contribute by clicking the “Humanitarian Relief for Indigenous Communities” donation link below to visit our online fundraising campaign and donate whatever you can.
