Beyond the Jezebel Label
The Official Book Launch Conversation for I Am Not Your JEZEBEL
Sunday, November 15, 2026 | 2:00–4:00 PM
A Seat at the Table Books | Elk Grove, California
What happens when women are taught to carry responsibility for men’s choices?
Join Sacramento-area author Julia Clemmons for an intimate launch-week conversation celebrating the release of I Am Not Your JEZEBEL: Dismantling the Lie. Reclaiming the Truth. Restoring the Soul.
This will be more than a traditional book signing.
Together, we’ll explore the questions at the heart of the book: the ways women are blamed for men’s behavior, what meaningful male accountability looks like, how faith communities respond to harm, and whether truth, responsibility, healing, and restoration can exist in the same conversation.
At a moment when questions of power, accountability, institutional protection, and victim-blaming continue to surface across our culture, this conversation feels especially timely.
Although I Am Not Your JEZEBEL is grounded in Scripture and Christian culture, its themes reach far beyond the church. This gathering is for women and men, people of faith and people with complicated relationships with faith, and anyone interested in healthier conversations about dignity, responsibility, relationships, power, healing, and repair.
What to Expect
The afternoon will include:
• A brief reading from I Am Not Your JEZEBEL
• An intimate author conversation
• Audience Q&A
• Book signing and time to meet Julia
Come ready to listen, reflect, ask questions, and be part of a conversation that refuses both easy blame and easy denial.
About the Book
I Am Not Your JEZEBEL confronts the theology and culture that have used the Jezebel label to make women responsible for men’s choices and to silence wounds in the name of protecting the church.
Drawing on Scripture, lived experience, cultural context, and more than twenty years of ministry leadership, Julia Clemmons invites women toward dignity and voice, men toward responsibility and healing, and the church toward a shared life shaped by truth, grace, and the recognition of one another as brothers and sisters.
This is not a call to tear down Christ’s house.
It is a call to imagine what His house can become.
