An AIARE 1 course gives you the foundation to recognize avalanche hazards and make informed decisions in the backcountry. But how do you continue developing those skills, deepen your snowpack assessment, and become a more independent decision-maker?Join Mountain Madness and Cripple Creek Backcountry for an evening with Max Bond exploring how to apply your avalanche education in real-world conditions. Drawing on his experience ski touring in the remote mountains of Kyrgyzstan, where formal avalanche forecasts and information were limited, Max will share how careful observations, snowpack assessment, and a structured decision-making process can help inform decisions in complex terrain.
Whether you're looking to get more out of your AIARE 1 training or considering AIARE 2 as your next step, this evening will offer practical insights into continuing your development as a backcountry skier.
