About this Event
Over the past ten months, participants across the Derry City and Strabane District Council area have been using Civic Dollars to help prevent progression along the diabetes pathway by becoming more physically active, exploring our local community and supporting local businesses and community organisations. This event will share what we have learned, celebrating successes, exploring challenges and discussing what the findings mean for the future of digital health, prevention and community wellbeing.
Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to experience some of the community activities that have supported participants on their Civic Dollars journey, including a 10 Mindful Minutes session and an interactive taster experience from Creative Connections.
We are delighted to welcome contributions from Edel O doherty (CEO, Developing Healthy Communities), Lesley Hamilton (Western Trust Diabetes Lead, ) Dr Innocent Okwori (Clarendon Medical Practice) who has been involved in the programme's primary care work. The evening will include an open panel discussion, including programme partners, participants and community representatives as well as community social workers - an opportunity to ask questions, share reflections and explore how we can continue building healthier, more connected communities together.
Warm food and refreshments will be provided from 6.00 pm, creating an informal and welcoming space for conversation, networking and shared learning.
Whether you are interested in community development, digital innovation, health improvement or simply curious about what can be achieved when communities work together, we look forward to welcoming you.
