School just started. And, for some kids in Billerica, the hardest part isn’t the homework.
Missing supplies. No new shoes. A backpack that’s falling apart before October even hits. Small things that add up, and by week four or five, they start showing up as school avoidance, anxiety, and kids who just can’t focus.
On October 7, we’re doing something about it. Bring an item to our new Billerica clinic and help us build kits containing hygiene supplies, school supplies, shoes and socks, snacks, and a handwritten note, for Billerica students in need.
While you’re there, our therapists will host a short talk for parents and educators on what the first two months of school can mean for a child’s mental health — and how to tell normal adjustments from something more.
Goal: 300 kits, built by the community, going straight to Billerica Public Schools. Some things are hard to fix. This one isn’t. Come build a kit with us.
