TCB – The Toni Cade Bambara School of Organizing focuses on an iconic figure in the pantheon of Black feminists: an influential writer, filmmaker and cultural worker who inspired a generation of artists to dedicate themselves to community empowerment. The film is structured as a series of lessons on cultural organizing gleaned from Bambara’s life and shared by her friends, colleagues and students.
This Beyond Boundaries screening is free and open to the public, and was curated by Professors Ruth Goldman and Meg Knowles. The event is sponsored by The Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies Minor, the Communication Department, Buffalo State’s Office of Equity and Campus Diversity, and the Burchfield Penney Art Center.
