Beverley Folk Festival 2027 Big Friday Concert: Katherine Priddy + support from Steph Fraser
Katherine Priddy brings her spellbinding blend of intricate finger-picked guitar, haunting vocals and beautifully crafted songwriting to St Mary’s Church for our Big Friday Concert. One of the most exciting artists on the contemporary British folk scene, Priddy has built a devoted following through sold-out headline tours, major festival appearances and collaborations with Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, as well as a memorable performance on Later… with Jools Holland. Her acclaimed new album These Frightening Machines sees her stretch her sound further than ever, moving through moments of fragility, hope, connection and loss. In the atmospheric surroundings of St Mary’s, this promises to be a very special festival performance.
Opening the night is Steph Fraser, a remarkable new voice whose songs are matched by a voice that can stop a room in its tracks. After acclaimed performances at the Royal Albert Hall, a UK tour with Declan O’Rourke and a co-written collaboration with Jack Savoretti, Fraser arrives at Beverley Folk Festival with her debut album on the horizon. Her music combines sharp observation, emotional honesty and a real instinct for a great chorus — delivered with a rawness and warmth that feels entirely her own. And yes, she really is a singer-songwriter living and touring from a motorhome, with a slight pigeon obsession. Two brilliant artists, one beautiful setting, and a proper Friday night at Beverley Folk Festival.
