Between Near & Afar - Boston

With new compositions of Persian classical music, and arrangements of pieces by the great masters, Between Near & Afar seeks to capture 'home' as that which feels simultaneously remote, but close to every breath of everyday life in the diaspora.

Washington, DC based composer and santour soloist Sourena Sefati performs on the santour, along with the lamenting sound of the ney by Toronto based soloist Kianoush Khalilian. The pair are joined by the dynamic and percussive energy of Miead Nikfarjam on daf, and Sina Homaee on tombak.
