Set in 1947 to the backdrop of the impending Royal wedding of Princess Elizabeth, the story follows chiropodist Gilbert Chilvers and his social-climbing wife, Joyce who steal a pig being illegally reared for the towns fast approaching celebrations. Comedy ensues as the future of our beautiful, blue-eyed Betty hangs in the balance!
Featuring music by George Stiles and lyrics by Anthony Drewe, Betty Blue Eyes is adapted from Alan Bennett’s original screenplay and earned a Laurence Olivier Award Nomination for Best New Musical when it opened in London in 2011.
