About this Event
Nicotine use among children and young people is changing rapidly, with vaping increasingly common and many professionals unsure how best to respond.
We at Ice are behaviour change specialists, and so in conjunction with Norfolk Council, we have developed this insight-led, co-produced targeted public health intervention to equip professionals with the skills, knowledge and confidence to address nicotine use early and effectively.
Designed specifically for those working with children and young people (CYP), the session focuses on how to have constructive, non-judgemental conversations that support behaviour change; whether that’s reducing use or encouraging quitting.
What you’ll learn
- The latest insights into youth vaping and nicotine use
- How to recognise and respond to nicotine use in CYP
- Practical conversation techniques (including motivational approaches)
- How to identify readiness to change and support next steps
- Ways to involve parents and carers in a supportive way
Grounded in behavioural science and real-world insight, this training will help you turn everyday interactions into opportunities for meaningful intervention and positive change.
