(NL) Het multidisciplinaire, internationale ExploreZ festival 2024 opent met Best of ExploreZ 2024 & Proud to be Roma – Ethnic Coming Out, een bruisend programma bij Podium Mozaïek in Amsterdam.
Best of ExploreZ 2024
Het eerste deel van de avond bestaat uit de korte previews van voorstellingen die de komende tien dagen tijdens het festival op diverse locaties in de stad zijn te zien. Nieuwe makers, dansers en muzikanten – vaak met een vluchtverleden of migratieachtergrond – brengen een boeiend programma met verrassende, korte optredens in diverse genres. Deze talenten zijn ook te zien in het Explodium-programma van het festival.
Daarnaast kunt u een fragment zien uit de nieuwe voorstelling WATER van het ZID Theater, die tijdens het festival in première gaat. Het thema Verandering vormt de rode draad door het programma, wat voor veel makers als inspiratie heeft gediend. Gedurende het festival verkennen zij de voortdurende sociale, culturele, ecologische en technologische veranderingen waarmee wij als samenleving, gemeenschap of individu worden geconfronteerd.
Proud to be Roma – Ethnic Coming Out
Na de previews volgt de Nederlandse première van de voorstelling Proud to be Roma – Ethnic Coming Out van Yacka Collective – jonge Europese Roma en Sinti artiesten onder leiding van activiste, theatermaker en danseres Ivana Nikolić. Zij geeft met haar groep een positieve stem aan jonge makers met een Roma- en Sinti-achtergrond uit diverse Europese landen.

Best of ExploreZ 2024
The first part of the evening consists of short previews of performances that can be seen at various locations in the city over the next ten days during the festival. New makers, dancers and musicians – often with a history of refugee or migration background – present a fascinating program with surprising, short performances in various genres. These talents can also be seen in the festival's Explodium programme.
You can also see an excerpt from the new performance WATER by the ZID Theater, which will premiere during the festival. The theme of Change is the common thread throughout the program, which has served as inspiration for many makers. During the festival they explore the ongoing social, cultural, ecological and technological changes that we face as a society, community or individual.
Proud to be Roma – Ethnic Coming Out
The previews will be followed by the Dutch premiere of the performance Proud to be Roma – Ethnic Coming Out by Yacka Collective – young European Roma and Sinti artists led by activist, theater maker and dancer Ivana Nikolić. With her group she gives a positive voice to young makers with a Roma and Sinti background from various European countries.
