Berlin School of Sound launches Into the Future, a new showcase series spotlighting emerging
talent from the city's experimental electronic music education scene. The inaugural edition brings
together students making their performance debuts alongside established educators, creating a
rare intergenerational dialogue between mentorship and raw creative potential.
The evening opens with three debut performances that signal the next wave of Berlin's sound art
and electronic music practitioners.
Seekitoutright inaugurates the night with an introspective
electronic set, followed by Abigail Sanders' ambitious quadrophonic composition for french horn and spatial
sound—a bold statement of intent that pushes conventional instrument boundaries into immersive audio territories.
Symbal closes the opening segment with a focused electronic
performance, demonstrating the rigorous technical foundation fostered at Berlin School of Sound.
At 20:00, the dynamic shifts as the school's faculty takes the stage. RETHE—known for their visceral Ableton Live performances across Berlin's underground circuit and releases on ARTS, Occultechno, and Resonating Pulse—joins forces with Vojto Monteur for an electronic duel.
Monteur, a veteran guitarist and producer from Poland's pioneering EABS jazz collective (Slavic Spirits went gold in 2019), brings his signature ambient guitar processing and electro-acoustic sensibility to the confrontation. Their collaborative tension promises to blur the lines between
improvisation, composition, and raw sonic exploration.

Following at 21:30, Stéphane Lefrancois delivers a modular synthesis set drawing from his three-decade career spanning labels like Compost, !K7, BBE, and KMS. As co-founder of the duo Kitmun and a regular at Superbooth, Lefrancois has spent years developing a practice centered on dense, evolving textures and percussive complexity. His residencies at Katerblau and Ministry of Sound London have cemented his reputation for live modular performances that privilege generative processes and spontaneous patch manipulation.
The night concludes with Er/Win's hybrid set and
afterparty, extending Into the Future's ethos into the
early morning hours—a fitting close to an evening that
refuses easy categorization.
Into the Future Vol. 1 is more than a showcase. It's a
statement about alternative education models in
electronic music, where institutional hierarchies
dissolve on stage and students share billing with
internationally recognized artists. In a city
oversaturated with club nights and festival line-ups,
Berlin School of Sound offers something increasingly
rare: a platform where debut performances carry
equal weight to established names, where risk-taking
is encouraged, and where the future of experimental
electronic music is being actively shaped.

RETHE
Berlin-based electronic artist and producer with releases on ARTS, Occultechno, Resonating
Pulse, and contributions to compilations alongside Flora Yin-Wong, KMRU, and Mantra. Known
for their rigorous Ableton Live performances and teaching practice at Berlin School of Sound.
Vojto Monteur (Vojto Monteur Sound Alchemist)
Polish guitarist, producer, and composer with 20+ years in experimental electronic music. Co- founder of EABS (2015-2019), whose album Slavic Spirits achieved gold certification. Monteur's practice fuses ambient guitar processing with electroacoustic experimentation, spanning collaborations with Leszek Możdżer's Paderewski Orchestra and solo releases including Glow/ Ambient Works (2019). Currently Managing Director of Berlin School of Sound and lecturer at
Szkoła Muzyki Nowoczesnej in Poland.
Stéphane Lefrancois (S L F)
London/Berlin-based drummer, recording engineer, and modular synthesis specialist with releases
on Compost, !K7, BBE, KMS, and his own Secret Music imprint. Co-founder of duo Kitmun (Superbooth performer), with residencies at Ministry of Sound London and Katerblau Berlin.
Lefrancois' three-decade career spans percussive electronic production and generative modular synthesis, with a teaching practice focused on Eurorack systems and live performance
techniques.
