The death of a child changes everything.
It changes the way we see the world, the way we communicate, the way we grieve, and often the way we connect with one another as husband and wife.
One of the most difficult realities bereaved couples face is that mothers and fathers often grieve differently. Neither way is wrong. Yet those differences can create misunderstandings, distance, and loneliness at a time when we need each other most.
This retreat was created to help couples learn how to carry grief together.
Throughout the weekend, you will experience meaningful activities designed to honor your child, preserve their legacy, strengthen communication, and deepen your understanding of one another’s grief journey. You will have opportunities for reflection, remembrance, fellowship, education, and connection with other couples who truly understand the pain that follows the death of a child.
Together, we will explore practical tools that help husbands and wives support one another, rebuild emotional connection, and move forward as a team while continuing to love and honor their child.
As a bereaved mother who has buried two precious sons, Benjamin and Bridger, I understand firsthand how grief impacts a marriage. As a Christian Counselor, Grief Educator, Bereaved Parent Advocate, and founder of Grief Bridge, I have spent more than a decade walking alongside thousands of bereaved parents from around the world.
The mission of Grief Bridge is to close the gap between bereaved parents and the world through awareness, education, validation, and spiritual wisdom.
If your marriage has been impacted by the death of a child, please know you are not alone.
Come spend a weekend with us at beautiful Lake Texoma, where you can step away from the demands of everyday life, honor your child, strengthen your relationship, and connect with other couples who truly understand.
Your registration fee includes three days and two nights of lodging, six meals, all retreat materials, continuing bonds activities, and communication tools designed to strengthen your marriage and help you support one another on this lifelong journey.
The retreat begins Friday, Oct. 30, at 12:00 p.m. with lunch and concludes Sunday, Nov. 1, at 11:00 a.m.
Let’s cross the bridge from heartbreak to hope, together.
