Written in 1942 during a sea voyage from America to England, Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols has become one of the most cherished works of Christmas choral music.
Combining beautiful choral singing with the distinctive sound of the harp, this enchanting composition brings together traditional Christmas poetry, much of it dating back hundreds of years, in a series of contrasting musical pieces.
From gentle, reflective passages to joyful celebrations of Christmas, Britten's music captures both the wonder and spirit of the season.
The concert will be prededed by a harp recital.
