About this Event

On Tuesday, October 20th, 2026, from 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM, join the Ontario Corporate Training Centre (OCTC), March of Dimes Canada and MentorAbility Ontario at the Sans-Souci Banquet Hall (240 Front Street, Belleville, ON) for the Workplace Leadership Summit on Disability Inclusion designed for business leaders, owners, and operators.

This is an opportunity to expand your recruiting efforts that support your business goals. You will learn how to:

  • build disability inclusion into your hiring and recruiting practices by identifying myths and biases, recognizing unintended barriers and strategies to support a culture of inclusion.
  • connect to mentorship opportunities to help people who have a disability transition into the workforce, through MentorAbility Canada Project.
  • tap into apprenticeship programs through the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP).
  • access support from the local employment ecosystem including Meta Employment Services.

You’ll be able to connect directly with local business leaders, local Employment Service Providers and disability inclusion experts.

This learning and networking event is designed for business leaders and owners within the healthcare, manufacturing, skilled trades, or hospitality sectors.

Building disability inclusion principles into your business can optimize your recruiting efforts recognize and promote existing talent and boost your retention and productivity. Unlock pathways to eager, untapped talent in Belleville and the Quinte area.

A 2020 study by the Quinte Economic Development Commission identified three areas where companies in the manufacturing sector were experiencing difficulty filling positions or anticipated future difficulty filling positions:

  • People with the right skills to learn new technologies
  • Technicians / technologists
  • Skilled trades

Being disability inclusive will ensure you have access to the broadest selection of talent. This event offers valuable insights to help expand your business’s candidate pool by embracing disability inclusion as part of your recruitment and hiring strategies, and apprenticeship and mentoring programs.

Now, more than ever, disability inclusion is a strategic advantage for businesses!

A breakfast buffet will be provided. Any dietary restrictions should be noted when you register before October 13th, 2026.
