The Gordon family is proud to present BeLikeBruce Puzzling for a Cause– Every Piece Counts, a unique puzzle-building competition created in honour and loving memory of our husband, father, brother, friend, and fellow athlete, Bruce Gordon.Bruce was a long-standing member of the triathlon community, an avid competitor, coach, and race director. Along with his family, he was passionate about supporting and encouraging people to become part of active lifestyle communities. Bruce had a remarkable ability to bring people together, challenge them to try something new, and make everyone around him feel like they belonged.
Bruce lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in September 2017.
Following his passing, the Gordon family created the #BeLikeBruce platform to advocate, take action, and create awareness of pancreatic cancer, the disease that took Bruce’s life and changed theirs forever. What began as a way to honour Bruce has grown into an ongoing commitment to support pancreatic cancer research and make a difference in the lives of others facing this disease.
For the past several years, the #BeLikeBruce event has brought Bruce’s friends, family, fellow athletes, and community together through friendly competition and fundraising. This year, we are excited to introduce a new event format that reflects something we believe Bruce would have loved: bringing people together around a table, working as a team, having fun, and taking on a challenge together.
BeLikeBruce Puzzling for a Cause – Every Piece Counts
Teams of four people will compete in a friendly but challenging puzzle-building competition. Teams will race against the clock and each other to complete their puzzle while enjoying an evening of fun, laughter, teamwork, and community.
And, much like a puzzle, every piece counts.
Every participant matters.
Every team makes a difference.
Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to better treatments and outcomes.
And every contribution helps keep Bruce’s memory and his legacy alive.
Proceeds from BeLikeBruce Puzzling for a Cause – Every Piece Counts will support pancreatic cancer research and help increase the donation made to the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine Pancreatic Cancer Research Centre in memory of Bruce Gordon.
