Explore Hakomi’s Five Principles and Loving Presence in this 3-hour in-person workshop for healing professionals.
About this Event

Join this in-person, three-hour workshop for mental health practitioners and holistic healthcare professionals seeking a more grounded way to be with clients.

About the workshop

Research in interpersonal neurobiology and attachment shows that our nervous systems continually respond to and influence one another: we co-regulate. Therapeutic outcomes depend not only on protocol or technique, but also on connection with the client and the quality of the practitioner’s presence.

Drawing on the Mindfulness-Based Somatic Psychology of Hakomi, you’ll learn to cultivate spaciousness and loving presence, and explore common pitfalls such as working too hard or rushing to “fix” rather than mindfully exploring. Practice the Five Principles and Loving Presence, shifting from doing to being, fixing to exploring, and efforting to ease.

What to expect

  • Lecture, experiential exercises, and partner exercises to experience the principles from the practitioner’s seat.
  • A live demonstration of Hakomi in action.

Workshop leader

Led by Rupesh Chhagan, a BC Licensed TCMP (Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner) and Certified Hakomi Practitioner & Trainer. Learn more about Rupesh and Hakomi.
