About this Event
Behind the Closed Door: “Understanding and Supporting Your Teen”
Over two interactive hours, we’ll look at:
- Why teenage moods, silence and shutdown happen, including the brain changes and the many transitions young people go through, from puberty and school moves to friendships, identity and family change
- Practical ways to open up communication, even when your teen isn’t talking
- Real strategies for arguments, isolation and changes in eating, plus when and where to get extra support
- Your own responses and triggers, and how you parent each of your children, in a safe and non-judgemental space
- How perimenopause and menopause can add to the pressure at home, and how to plan for it
- Why mistakes are part of parenting, how to repair after a difficult moment, and how to let go of guilt
You’ll leave with tools you can try straight away and the reassurance that you’re not alone. There’s no blame here, only understanding, practical support and the chance to connect with other parents and carers.
