About this Event
About this event
Join us for a relaxed and friendly fungi walk exploring the fascinating world of woodland fungi.
Autumn is a wonderful time to discover fungi, from colourful caps pushing through the leaf litter to bracket fungi growing on fallen wood and the many other species quietly breaking down dead wood and returning nutrients to the woodland.
We’ll make use of identification apps, field guides and our collective brain power to help identify what we find, sharing ideas and learning from one another along the way. We’ll also record some of our discoveries, helping to build a better picture of fungi along the Ouse Burn Way.
No previous fungi experience is needed, just curiosity and an enthusiasm for getting outside and looking closely at the natural world. This is an exploratory walk, and what we find will depend on the conditions on the day!
Please bring weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear.
