Foxglove - A Flowering Romance
Inspired by the story of Dr William Withering, who was born in Wellington, and whose passion for Botany and discovery of the healing properties of the common Foxglove was sparked by his romance with his patient Helena Cookes, who loved nature, doing botanical illustrations, and who later became his wife. Helena illustrated his first major botanical text, which was published 250 years ago. This is one of Wellington's #Flora250 events.

COST:
£10 per person
Friendly, relaxed workshop for adults/families at our cosy art gallery, illustrating and painting foxgloves, with the opportunity to paint with watercolour. All materials and supportive instruction are provided - all you need to do is show up! Light refreshments will also be available.
Mary will lead this workshop, assisted by one of our volunteers.
