NEW TO MAHJONG? JOIN OUR TWO-NIGHT BEGINNER CLASS!
Our Beginner Mahjong Class is designed for people who are brand new to American Mahjong or have played a little but still need help putting it all together. Beginner space is limited to just 16 players so we can keep the class small and give everyone plenty of hands-on help.
$40 per person for BOTH nights ($20 per session) register for the complete two-night class, and payment is due at the door on October 5th.
You don't need to bring anything! We'll provide the equipment and supplies you need.
Over the two sessions we'll work through the basics, including:
Understanding the tiles
Reading the National Mah Jongg League card
Setting up and dealing
The Charleston
Choosing and building a hand
Jokers and calling tiles
Playing actual games with plenty of help along the wayThis is a relaxed, beginner-friendly environment. You don't need to study beforehand or know a single thing about Mahjong before you arrive!

Beginner Class + Open Play Begins
Beginners will begin instruction while our experienced players get their games underway.
Throughout the Evening | Learn + Play
Beginners will move from instruction into guided play.
7:15–7:30 PM | Wrap-Up + Prizes
Finish those last hands, enjoy a few fun prizes and start planning your next Mahjong night!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Beginners: Nothing! We've got you covered.
We'll provide Mahjong tiles, racks, mats and instructional support. We'll have cards available for beginners to use.
We only have 16 beginner spots available!
