Learn the basics of knitting- part of the Eco Flamingo's Folk Skills class series
About this Event

Want to learn a creative art? Meditative craft? Post-apocalyptic lifeskill? Knitting is your answer!

In this 2 hour class you will learn the fundamentals of knitting including pattern reading basics, casting on, basic knit stitch, and casting off, and how to make yarn from a t-shirt. At the end of the class you will have a finished t-shirt yarn pot holder. Please select the "Keep Your Needles" Add-on if you would like a set of size 15 wooden knitting needles and a metal tapestry needle to take home.

Class runs 2 hours. Recommended for ages 10+. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. At least one adult per 4 children under 12. Adult does NOT need to purchase a ticket to supervise child participant(s).

Tickets are PAY WHAT YOU CAN. Please select the option that works best for you! If you would like to pay more than $20 the addtional amount will go to your instructor for her time and effort.

Students are encouraged to stay and shop the Eco Flamingo's extensive stock of waste-free items. The store will be open from 10am-7pm the day of the class.

Limited paid street parking is availabe ear the venue. Take public transit or walk/bike to the class and get a FREE GIFT!
