Take on your first Peak District summit with a beginner guided walk up Kinder Scout, led by a local guide who knows this valley inside out. This route takes you past stunning viewpoints, striking rock formations, and along a pretty brook before winding back down to Edale village, with your guide Sarah sharing the history and geology of the area as you go. It's a genuinely steep climb up and down, but the pace is steady with plenty of breaks, and there's a short stretch of rocky terrain where you might use your hands, always at an easy level with Sarah right there to support you.
This walk is built for exactly the moment you're at. Whether you're slowly building your fitness, curious about mountain walking but not ready to take on too much too soon, new to rocky terrain, new to the area and looking to meet people, or simply nervous about tackling Kinder Scout alone, this is the walk that makes it feel possible. Open to adults aged 18 and over. This walk isn't suitable for dogs, due to livestock, a dog-inaccessible stile, and rocky sections.
Led by Sarah Lister, a local guide who lives in the area and knows Kinder Scout's history and geology as well as its paths.
