Whether you’re a complete beginner or simply looking to slow down and enjoy a mindful activity, this relaxed workshop offers the perfect opportunity to unwind, learn something new, and connect with others in a warm and welcoming setting.
Hosted by Steph of @callibysteph and Florence of @hyggechicspace, the afternoon will begin with a gentle introduction to modern calligraphy. Steph will guide you step by step through the fundamentals of lettering, from understanding pen pressure and basic strokes to forming elegant letter shapes and connecting them into flowing words. With expert guidance and plenty of encouragement, you’ll quickly gain confidence and discover the calming rhythm of writing by hand.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of HOME, the atmosphere and event has been thoughtfully designed to feel cosy, calm, and inspiring. Beautiful spring inspired table decor, soft conversation, creative focus, and a shared love of craft make this a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon away from the busyness of everyday life.
Throughout the session you’ll have time to practice, experiment with your own style, and enjoy the relaxing pace of calligraphy. It’s also a wonderful chance to meet new people, share creativity, and connect with others who appreciate slow, mindful crafts.
There will also be an optional book swap, where you can bring along a pre-loved book and exchange it for a new one to enjoy this spring along with your new bookmark you’ve created.
Whether you come alone or with a friend, you’ll leave feeling refreshed, inspired, and proud of the pieces you’ve created. Join us for an afternoon of creativity, calm, and community as we explore the art of modern calligraphy together. ✒️
Tickets include:
- A welcome drink (tea/barista coffee/soft drink)
- Modern calligraphy starter pack (all sheets are yours to take away) plus expert tuition and guidance from Steph. You’ll also create your own bookmark and greeting card
