Poems While You Wait is a team of poets and their typewriters who provide the public with an unexpected and unpretentious encounter with poetry. The process is simple: give us your name, give us the topic that you would like us to write a poem about (funny or sad, silly or serious, big or small), and go enjoy the story-time. Upon your return you will have a custom-made, one-of-a-kind original poem to keep for yourself or to give as a gift.
Explore the city with Chicago Public Libraries Destination Discovery Story Time. Join Chicago Public Library staff as they travel throughout Chicago visiting our city’s amazing museums, zoos, and other cultural centers as they bring story time to the children of Chicago and beyond!
