--> Bebawinigi (Bebawinigi (Virginia Quaranta) is an experimental singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, actress and filmmaker. )
The album “Soundtracks” by Bebawinigi, whose real name is Virginia Quaranta, is a collection of excerpts from soundtracks that the artist composed between 2014 and 2026. Super fans will notice that some film scores have been omitted; these will be released separately.
Here we find works taken from feature films, short films, interactive web series, visual art and theatre productions, some of whom have won prestigious awards, such as at the Cannes Film Festival: a rhapsody of 20 tracks that are very different from each other and yet, as usual, linked by an invisible thread that characterises Bebawinigi’s work, ranging from symphonic lyricism to minimal ambient, from scratchy noise to songs featuring vocals and guitar. The variety of styles, the blending of genres and sound experimentation reign supreme once again on this artist’s fourth album, a cinematic journey lasting almost an hour, in which you nonchalantly jump from one atmosphere to another, accompanied by the author’s hand through a forest of dreamy, solemn, gloomy, hallucinatory, eerie, ironic, light-hearted and grotesque tones.
