About this Event
We invite you to a special experience and interactive community discussion with writer, speaker and care partner advocate Kerry Rae Connolly, author of A Messy Kind of Grace. First, we'll explore themes from Kerry Rae's memoir and her experience as a care partner with her late husband Harry, who was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's at the age of 47, five years in to their marriage. Hear some of Kerry Rae's story of love, tragedy, loss and resilience through a candid interview with Deridre Gill, program coordinator with Parkinson's Resources. Whether you are new to Parkinson's, or seasoned with many years in to your care-partner journey, we know Kerry Rae's powerful story will touch shared experiences and spark inspiration about finding joy, community, and support along the way.
After the author interview, we will spend some time tapping in to YOUR wealth of collective knowledge and experiences in a strictly "care-partners only" space. Bring your own reflections from your own story as we build connection and understanding across the wide range of experiences and backgrounds presented by care partners.
Refreshments (and cake!) will be provided as we take time to honor and support each other, and to find some new energy and ideas to meet the challenges of supporting someone with Parkinson's.
