Get into the festive spirit and make something genuinely special with glass! The course starts on Thursday 19 November and runs for 4 weeks till Thursday 10 December, 5.30pm-8.30pm.
Taught by experienced local glass-maker Emily Napolitano, this four-week course will introduce you to the basics of lampwork bead making while creating beautiful, colourful beads with the festive season in mind.
Whether you’d like to make a unique handmade gift for someone you love or create something beautiful just for yourself, this is a lovely way to explore the magic of working with molten glass.
Each week we will explore two different decorative techniques and bead shapes. By the end of the block, you will have at least 8 different charm beads to take home and create your own Pandora-style festive bracelet or jewellery items of your own choice. Bead shapes will include but will not be limited to summery fruit, delicious desserts, and a variety of Christmas-themed options.
The course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with some previous experience. Course cost includes set materials; extra glass is available to purchase.
Please note: this class involves gas torches and molten glass. Participants 13+ are welcome but everyone under 16 must be accompanied by an enrolled parent or caregiver.
