About this Event
We begin our journey at Bristol Temple Meads, meeting on the departure platform at 10:30 to catch the 10:46 train to Redland. This short rail trip kicks off a 7 mile walk that links some of the city’s finest green spaces, offering a fresh way to see the landscape from north to south.
After leaving the station at Redland, we head through the Royal Fort Gardens and up to the famous views at Brandon Hill. We will take in the geometric layout of Queen Square before crossing the river toward Victoria Park. Our final stop is the hilltop at Perretts Park in Totterdown, known for its fantastic skyline vistas, before we follow the River Avon back to the station’s rear entrance.
At a scenic point along the way, we will practice a short guided sensory activity to help us ground ourselves in the environment. Instead of just passing through, we will take a few minutes to tune into the natural sounds, textures, and scents around us. It is a simple way to switch off from the city bustle and really notice the nature thriving in our urban corners.
This walk is hosted and led by Miriam Ricci, wellbeing coach and co-founder of Railwalks.co.uk. Please visit our website to discover how you can walk Britain by rail and be part of our growing railwalking community.
