Come and experience the many benefits of walking meditation with this free guided session!
Suitable for complete newcomers as well as those with meditation experience, the walk takes place in the peaceful surroundings of Victoria Park.
Benefits of walking meditation
Walking meditation has a multitude of mental and physical benefits; it can:
- reduce stress
- enhance focus
- promote cardiovascular health
- improve your energy
- increase lung capacity
- bring more positivity into your life
... to name just a few! Additionally, walking in nature can bring you a sense of connection and appreciation for the natural world around us. Our focus for this session is inner peace, so you may find this especially beneficial if you suffer from stress or anxiety.
Session structure
The session begins with some deep breathing and gentle yoga warm up exercises, before the main walk featuring a special technique to calm the mind and help bring calm, happiness, and contentment. We then end with some relaxing yoga stretches, followed by a seated meditation to absorb and deepen the experience. Tea and biscuits will be served afterwards if you wish to stay and chat or simply enjoy relaxing in the park!
