Please join the BeachSMART Team on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026, from 10:00am until 11:30am at Haskell’s Beach, to discuss beach nourishment at Refugio, Mariposa Reina and Haskell's beaches.
The team has completed a Draft Alternative Sites and Feasibility Analysis that will be open for public comment later this autumn. The Draft Analysis identified potential beaches along the south coast of Santa Barbara County to place sediment for beach nourishment. The sites were analyzed through a multi-benefit, robust, objective, and repeatable screening process. Sites identified for beach nourishment include Refugio, Mariposa Reina and Haskell's beaches.
