We have long been massive fans of BC Camplight and have been trying to entice him to the Soho Poly for some time and are absolutely delighted that we finally have our man. Two shows for Independent Venue Week – these tickets will go quickly….
BC Camplight is the musical project of American-born, Manchester-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brian Christinzio. Known for his richly orchestrated indie pop, dark humour and deeply personal songwriting, BC Camplight has built a distinctive career that combines ambitious arrangements with an unmistakably human sense of vulnerability.
Christinzio began releasing music in the mid-2000s, initially based in the United States, before relocating to Manchester, where the city became an important part of both his life and creative identity. His albums have explored themes including love, loss, addiction, mental health, isolation and redemption, often balancing melancholy with wit and melodic warmth.
Following a period away from music, BC Camplight returned with the acclaimed How to Die in the North in 2015, an album that marked a significant new chapter in his career. It was followed by Deportation Blues (2018) and Shortly After Takeoff (2020), further establishing his reputation for ambitious, emotionally charged songwriting.
His 2023 album The Last Rotation of Earth continued that evolution, presenting an expansive and intimate collection of songs shaped by change, uncertainty and resilience.
