About this Event
Join us for our very first Ideas Untapped lecture "Why Does Public Speaking Trigger Fight or Flight? How our brains turn an audience into a perceived threat"!
We'll learn from Alejandra Fuentes, founder of The President's Lab, which is a public speaking and leadership company that helps people manage their nerves, organize their thoughts, and communicate with confidence. Get ready to dive into the science behind why you feel like you're in danger whenever you speak in front of a crowd, or simply conversing with someone - a problem we have ALL experienced at some point. Ale will then walk us through ways to biologically calm down the natural fight or flight instinct, and gather our thoughts to communicate effectively.
You'll also want to stick around to continue the conversation and meet with other curious minds from around the region!
This event will be photographed. Photographs will be used by Borderland Big Ideas (BBI) and Alejandra Fuentes / The President's Lab marketing and publicity online and on social media. By purchasing a ticket, attendees permit BBI and The President' Lab to use their likenesses in the photographs captured at this event. By purchasing a ticket, attendees also release BBI, The President's Lab, and The Garrison, and all speakers/participants from all liability.
