Jonathan is a native of Lexington, KY. He and his wife Jenny have 2 children, Brianna and Owen. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky (B.A. in Communication, 2005) and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. in Christian Ministry, 2009).
