About this Event
Please meet outside the Haigh Visitors Centre at 6pm for a gentle guided walk into the woodlnd using bat detectors to listen for and identify bats as they emerge at dusk.
Along the way a moth light will be set up to attract some of our amazing night-flying insects.
After a short walk, we will return to the moth light to discover which species have visited, learn more about their life cycles, and take a closer look at these often-overlooked creatures of the night.
This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to experience the woodland after dark and discover the wildlife that comes alive when the sun goes down.
Please bring:
- A torch (if you have one)
- Suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear
Please note: The event involves walking on uneven woodland paths in low light conditions. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The event will be cancelled if the forecast is unkind to us - you will be issued with a full refund.
